i 'tdidnw knoit was right in our own backyard. >> it was. a fist fight in an all-out brawl at a victoria's secret. we begin with breaking news. two people shot. one of them a dc police officer. >> it happened in the 1300 block of queens street northeast. that's the trinidad neighborhood. how's that officer doing? >> reporter: the officer is not offering many details about his condition. we're told he left the scene conscious and breathing. the police have a few blocks of queens street blocked off as they investigate this shooting. as you can see, it happened smack dab in the middle of the neighborhood. it was a gunfire exchange that happened right in the middle of the street. chief kathy lanier said they were here investigating when a fire broke out with an adult male suspect.

gunfire broke out, and what sparked the gunfire exchange is still being investigated but we do know that the officer and investigator have been both shot. the extent of their injuries have not been released. like i said, the officer was breathing and conscious when he left the hospital. that unit works to recover guns, and they were under cover. but police have not released whether that officer was under cover while working. the chief says this is very early in the investigation. >> we're trying to find out the facts that we have and make sure we have everything we need to sort through this investigation. so a lot of people still out this night. it's a warm night and we have a lot of people to talk to. >> police say right now, they are not looking for any other suspects. but like we mentioned, it is a very fluid situation, and they are just beginning this situation.

another officer facing child pornography charges. >> reporter: it was officers from this building in the seventh district who arrested washington, after he was accused of possessing and creating child pornography. >> we had an officer who was sworn to protect the public, and now we have an allegation that was sworn to protect the public, now he's just done this horrible act to hurt members in the community. >> the missing 15-year-old girl called police sunday to report that her daughter returned home. he allegedly asked to speak to the girl in private in her bedroom. while they were in there, authorities asked her to remove her clothing. after asking why, he said he needed the images for evidence. she ultimately did remove her clothing, and he allegedly took pictures, pictures that were never used for evidence.

. >> after washington left her home, the 15-year-old told her mother what happened and they called police. a few hours later, police arrested one of their own. >> i think what a lot of people don't realize is this is a blow to the gut of every good police officer on the metropolitan police department. we're going to treat everybody the same. if you are involved in criminal activity, we're going to arrest you. it doesn't matter who you are or who you work for. >> police say washington attempted to delete photos from his camera but they were recovered by police, along with 23 other photos of unidentified victims, at least two of whom appear to be minor. >> if this allegation appears to be true, the person who had the guts to call and tell us so that we could investigate this is responsible for protecting others, and that's really what it's all about, is we want to protect any future victims. >> mpd is urging anyone who had a similar encounter with any

officer to come forward and report to police. . tonight, a montgomery county teacher is on the run. the 25-year-old is accused of sexually abusing a 15-year-old autistic boy before avoiding investigators and taking off to hong kong. the alleged student was a victim at the frost school in rockville. his dad described the day they drove past the school on the way to report the abuse. >> he began to literally rip pieces of the door panel off the inside of our car. it's challenging for him because with autism, he does not display his emotions, but he feels them deeper than most of us. >> police believe she sent cellacious text messages to the teen while they were at church and showed up at the home and had sex with that boy. there's a new ad campaign out there that has heads turning and eye brows raising.

why metro is taking the heat once again, and this time, it's got nothing to do with their service. metro center, it's packed with a symphony of commuter sights and sounds. and on the walls that house all of this hustle and bustle hangs several posters that draw quite a bit of vire. you have to slow down a bit to see what they're talking about but if you have a second, the sore spots are prominently displayed. they have new upgrades across the rail and bus system. the back lash stems from the responses from women depicted in the ads. one says what? another says, i have no idea what you just said. how about this one? can't we just talk about shoes? >> i'm not even a huge feminist and i think it just makes us look stupid. it's a bad marketing campaign. i work in pr and this is horrible. >> reporter: metro says they have about seven variations of this sign, include thanksgiving

one depicting two men. another asks about a 32 foot model bus. his buddy replies, dude, it's a bus. we asked metro riders about this specific sign. >> are you offended by this? >> no, i just kind of glanced at it. >> i don't think it's offensive. >> reporter: clearly, the controversy seems to be rooted in the ads depicting women than n. >> i think there are better ways to accomplish this sort of, i mean. >> reporter: as a response, these signs say, quote, the point is to get people to talk about metro's massive rebuilding effort by juxtaposing a variety of light responses in conversation between friends. metro, however, has not said whether the back lash they're receiving for some of these signs are forcing them to remove them. ken molestina, wusa 9. new tonight, caught on camera, this is a troubled man

with apparently a death wish. take a look. police say this surveillance video shows a man named john sterner buying a gas can, and the gas to go with it, just moments before he douced himself, lit himself on fire, and then ran inside that church in ocean city. it was a week ago today that sterner died, along with the pastor at st. paul's by the sea episcopal. a woman there was badly burned and is still in the hospital. police are not sure whether sterner wanted to kill himself that day or anybody else. and tonight, they may never know. there have been reports a student was rejected because of his sexuality as a member of kappa alphapsi. he filed a complaint with the university. a morgan state spokesperson said that the fraternity violated discrimination regulations after discovering text messages from frat members. a brutal beating caught on
